Sweet Summertime

Summer has been good to Elsie!

At Loveland's Corn Roasting festival. Look are her attacking that corn. She loves it! I was peeling some today for a BBQ later, and she started crying cause I wouldn't give her a bite of the raw stuff.
Looking around at the Windsor parade-- in awe of the horses, band, and dance teams. She had so much fun picking up candy, but is about as slow as a sloth, and didn't make it to many pieces before they were picked up by speedy children. One of her favorite places to be-- she'll sit out there for hours just scooping and filling dump trucks, and eating.... That's right, for some odd reason she always eats the sand!

July & August

July brought us visitors! Pam and Dan came down for a weekend, and Elsie loved the extra attention! She had so much fun hanging out with her aunt and uncle (and we had fun too!) We also got to see Adam, Katie, and the kids twice while they were here in Colorado. It was so wonderful to be with family and to laugh and talk. Anyone else who wants to can come visit too! Alan and I also got to celebrate anniversary #3! We went up to Ft. Collins for a nice night out. We love it there and hope to live there someday soon. And here's little miss E. enjoying some spaghetti. Man that chicka loves to eat! She is running around all over the place, and babbling to herself all the time. She can say-- dad, mom, baba, shoes, baby, puppy, Jesus, and... poop. She is very good at informing me when she needs a diaper change. She can also sign milk, please, more, and all done. What a smartie! Little E is such a sweetie and is a happy girl 98% of the time. Lastly, we said good bye to dear Goldie. She has been a good reliable car, but living out here now, we need a bigger beast to get us from CO to UT in the winter. So..... Hello Pacifica!
We love this baby. The 4WD and storage space are perfect for trips (and perfect for hauling furniture to be redone. Just don't tell Alan!)

Here in Colorado...

Well... I figure I'd better keep this up since everyone can only see Elsie in pictures now.

We have gotten pretty settled here, and have unpacked most of the boxes. It has been really hot and we are enjoying the nice weather. Today we drove to Windsor to a cute little family-owned dairy. Elsie loved the baby chicks, calves, and a goat! The goat tried to eat her shoes and hair though. We also enjoyed some delish homemade icecream.
And now you are looking at my sexy hubby, all dressed up for his first day of work. He is really liking Chase, and we're finding out that they're a great company. I know he'll do well, since he's such a good people person. (Speaking Spanish doesn't hurt either.)

More fun adventures to come!

Impel has giveaways almost every month, and March's giveaway is AMAZING. Enter the contest HERE for a chance to win 1 of 50 trip getaways! I'm crossing my fingers because I want a little vacation so bad. Don't you need a little vacation too?

Props to the Grad!

After a long road of part-time semesters, nights in the library, and mounds of homework, my hubby graduated last week, and I couldn't be more proud! This last semester he started and grew his own business, helped care for his baby girl, started a new job, commuted from Orem to Bountiful 3X a week, and got all A's! Way to go smartie! I am so thankful to have married someone who values education as I do, and is willing to work for what he wants, even if we have to be really poor to get it.

Now, it's on to GMAT and grad school applications; I'll go with you wherever our next adventure takes us!

Luckiest guy in the world!!!

So, Elsie has gotten into this habit of sleeping in our bed. Ok, so it is probably a mixture of her wanting to be in our bed and me not wanting to take her back into her crib after Ally nurses her, but none the less it is what she loves now. So last night after she ate I took her and put her on the outside of the bed and we all feel asleep, me in the middle. A little later at around 4:30 AM almost in unison both Ally and Elsie scootched more to the middle which was where a happy daddy/husband was found sandwiched between his two favorite gals.
Elsie really is becoming such a hoot. She recently learned how to crawl and has quickly found a love for everything she shouldn't have. She lights me up when I walk in the door from work or school and gives me a big smile with outstretched arms.
Ally is truly amazing. She is so dedicated and has really made my life so much happier these past years. She is such a good mommy and is the best friend of our little daughter. She has grown so much spiritually over these past eight months. She literally lights up when she is filled with the spirit and radiates that spirit into our little apartment to make it feel more like home. She is beautiful and wonderful and adds a lot of style to this little cowboy's life.
They really are great, and I was so happy to be uncomfortable and sandwiched between the two of them last night.

Need some inspiration?

About 3 months ago I stumbled across THIS blog. This beautiful couple has a daughter, Preslee, who died at 18 months after falling into a canal and drowing. The great thing about Ashley is her positive yet realistic attitude, and her faith in our Heavenly Father's plan. I love stories like this of people who show courage and faith in times of great trial, and yet, it is the faith we all should have. I read a quote a few weeks ago that said something like "Courage doesn't always mean roaring loudly, sometimes it just means having the strength to get up and fight another day."
I am very grateful for her example of always getting up to fight another day, for showing gratitude in a time of adversity, and for having faith in Heavenly Father's plan for her.
